US Markerboard President and CEO Scott Newman has over 18 years experience working in his family owned business; he was appointed to his position as CEO and President in 1995.

Originally founded in 1946 as the Brite Venetian Blind Cleaning and Service Co., Inc., Scott’s passion for the business began in 1987 while working during summer breaks. He officially joined the company in 1991 after a career working with Boston based State Street Bank and Trust in the Global Custody Department and then with the Bank of Boston in the Treasury Department.

Since then, Scott has transformed the company into the online leader in the whiteboard and communications board industry. In 1996, Scott developed a new product offering for the school and institutional market consisting of magnetic whiteboards, non-magnetic whiteboards, black chalkboards, cork bulletin boards and developed the company’s first Web site. Scott graduated from Clark University in Worcester, MA in 1989 with a concentration in Mathematics and Business Management.

The company has since moved from it's original office in Quincy, MA and as of August 2005 their brand new location is in Holbrook, MA.

Over the years US Markerboard has experienced significant growth and is now recognized as The US Markerboard family of websites. Consisting of:

US Markerboard is an on-line distributor and premium source for custom visual communication boards, enclosed directory/bulletin boards, multi-media, restaurant & hospitality products, seating, magnets & magnetic accessories, classroom/office furniture & equipment. The product line has grown to over 10,000 items and represents more than twenty five brand name manufacturers. Customers range from Fortune 500 companies and large educational institutions to the home-school community and independent retailers. Additionally, many interior designers use US Markerboard’s services to assist in product placement, product choice, and custom design.

Brite Inc. is a supplier of window treatments, window shades, curtain & track, roller clutches & parts.

Maps & Globes Plus offers a full line of globes, maps, atlases and accessories.

Nationwide Office Supply provides all office supplies, furniture and technology accessories and Classroom Plus specifically offers top quality classroom furniture, classroom equipment and classroom supplies.

In 2007 US Markerboard was recognized by the Boston Business Journal, and featured in the April 6th, Enterprise section. Then on August 23rd, US Markerboard was listed on Inc. Magazine, Top 5000 Fastest Growing Privately Held Companies in America.
